What types of sideboards are available at Nest at Number 20?

Nest at Number 20 offers a curated range of handmade sideboards, including large pine sideboards, painted pine sideboards, solid wood sideboards and oak topped designs, perfect for dining and living spaces.

Are Nest at Number 20 sideboards made from real wood?

Yes, every sideboard is crafted from solid pine or oak. Each piece is handmade by skilled artisans to ensure strength, durability and a timeless finish that enhances your home décor.

Can I customise the size or colour of my sideboard?

Many of our sideboards can be customised in different paint colours, finishes and sizes. This allows you to match your furniture perfectly with your home’s style and colour palette.

What makes handmade painted pine sideboards special?

Handmade painted pine sideboards offer a unique combination of charm and practicality, each one is individually crafted and painted, showcasing the natural wood grain and adding a touch of classic British elegance to any room.

Do the sideboards provide enough storage for dining essentials?

Absolutely. Our sideboards are designed for both style and function, featuring deep drawers and spacious cupboards ideal for storing tableware, linens, or decorative pieces.

How should I care for a painted pine or oak sideboard?

Maintain your sideboard by wiping it with a soft, damp cloth and avoiding harsh chemicals. For long lasting beauty, apply a gentle furniture wax every few months to protect the wood and paint finish.

Does Nest at Number 20 deliver sideboards across the UK?

Yes, we deliver all our handcrafted sideboards safely across the UK. Each item is packaged with care to ensure it arrives in perfect condition, ready to enhance your home.

Can I order a bespoke sideboard from Nest at Number 20?

Yes, bespoke commissions are a regular part of what Nest at Number 20 offers and the process is more straightforward than most people realise. If you have an awkward alcove, a specific height in mind, or dimensions that don’t match anything in the standard collection, the team works with you from the initial brief right through to delivery. You share your requirements such as width, depth, height, any finish or Farrow & Ball colour and the piece is made to those exact specifications by hand in the UK. There’s no extra cost included when choosing a painted finish, any Farrow & Ball colour is available for no extra cost. For anyone renovating a period property or fitting furniture into an older home where walls rarely run true, this flexibility is genuinely useful rather than a token gesture.

How long does a handmade sideboard from Nest at Number 20 typically last?

A well-made solid pine or oak sideboard, properly cared for, should last several decades without any major deterioration to the structure or finish. The sideboards at Nest at Number 20 are built using traditional cabinet making techniques rather than the engineered board and dowel construction, which is common in mass-produced furniture, which means the joints hold, the drawers run cleanly, and the carcass doesn’t flex or warp under normal use. Pine is a durable softwood that responds well to waxing, and oak is harder still, both are forgiving materials that age well rather than simply wearing out. Occasional waxing every few months and wiping down with a damp cloth rather than saturating the surface is broadly all the maintenance required. Customer feedback consistently reflects this: pieces that arrive in excellent condition and remain that way through years of daily use.
